A father’s epic quest to regain custody of his children lies at the heart of this gripping, emotional drama. When his wife is hospitalised, Nikola (Goran Bogdan) is confronted by local bureaucrats who judge him as an unfit father and place his children in care. He embarks on a 300km walk to Belgrade to make his case to a national ministry. His journey is marked by random acts of individual kindness as he experiences a Serbia scarred by poverty and corruption. A rousing celebration of everyday heroism that is all the more compelling for being based on true events.
